The Story Behind Rainbow Surf Jewelry

One of my earliest memories is running along the edge of the ocean in Florida, right where the waves met the sand.

My family moved to Florida when I was three, and we went to the beach all the time. I don't remember every detail from those years, but I remember how the beach made me feel.

Happy. Content. Completely at home.

There's something about the ocean that has always done that for me.

Which makes it slightly ridiculous that I now live in Arizona.

Maybe that's part of the reason Rainbow Surf Jewelry exists.

A Little Piece of the Beach, Wherever You Are

I've always loved everything that comes with beach life. It almost feels magical to me. The turquoise water, shells, tropical colors, sunsets, salty air and that carefree feeling you get when you've spent the whole day near the water.

And I wanted Rainbow Surf Jewelry to feel like that.

Not fancy jewelry you save for a special occasion. Not pieces you're afraid to actually wear.

Just fun, easy jewelry that reminds you of somewhere you'd rather be.

The kind you throw on with a swimsuit, shorts and a tank top. Pieces you layer together without worrying too much about whether they "match." Jewelry that can be colorful, imperfect, beachy and a little boho.

Rainbow Surf Has Evolved

When I first started the shop, I focused mostly on waterproof stainless-steel jewelry. I still love those pieces, and waterproof jewelry will always be an important part of Rainbow Surf.

But as the shop has grown, I've realized that my vision for it is bigger than that.

I've fallen in love with colorful beads, pearls, shells, wax cord, surfer-style bracelets, adjustable rings and stacks that look like something you might have collected from little shops during a beach vacation.

Basically, if it makes me think of sunshine, saltwater or a surf shack, I'm probably going to love it.

And that's really where Rainbow Surf is headed.

Make Every Day Feel Like a Beach Day

Most of us can't spend every day next to the ocean.

I definitely can't. Again...Arizona.

But I think we can carry little pieces of the places we love with us.

For me, jewelry is one of those little things.

A tiny sea turtle around your neck. A stack of colorful bracelets on your wrist. Pearls, shells or a wave ring that catches your eye in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday.

Maybe it reminds you of your favorite vacation.

Maybe it reminds you of where you grew up.

Or maybe you just love the ocean and feel a little happier whenever you're near it.

I get it.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I think I'm still that little girl running along the water's edge in Florida, completely happy and content.

And that's the feeling I want Rainbow Surf Jewelry to bring you.
